Tumi Mbaakanyi is the President of Botswana’s Women in Business Association (WIBA) – an NGO that exists to facilitate, networking, capacity building, policy lobbying and advocacy. She is a financial consultant in a private practice. A BA(Economics/Accounting) graduate, certified chartered accountant and certified auditor, Tumi is a member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants, the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Her experience includes; internal/external audits, due diligences, corporate renewals, corporate strategy facilitations, risk management, quality management systems, development & implementation, judicial management, business valuations, business brokerage (matching investors with viable local businesses needing capital injection), regional transfer pricing consultancies etc. Tumi also part owns a meat processing company
Tumi sits on several boards in Botswana and she is the taskforce chairperson of the 3-year Botswana Women Entrepreneurship Development program and a member of the SADC Trade Barriers to Trade (TBT) Stakeholders Committee on quality /standards.
