Greg Free, American, is an experienced Silicon Valley Sales & Marketing executive with over 30 years of experience. This experience includes involvement in start-ups, particularly in technology and engineering sectors. He also mentors entrepreneurs, helping them sharpen their value propositions, and get funding. Greg says he has “consulted and mentored, specializing in getting very early stage startups on the path to success with focused positioning and a repeatable sales process that enables them to scale.” He brings this expertise to the African Entrepreneurship Award as a Global Mentor.
Throughout his career, Greg has been a leading sales rep for multiple start-ups, and also served as Principal at a software engineering startup that became thought leaders in adopting object technology in the 1990s. The company bootstrapped and grew 100% before fielding multiple buyout offers. He then co-founded another company that automatically transformed standard web content for any mobile device, obviating the need for separate, dedicated WAP provisioning for mobile wireless. The company was quickly fielding acquisition offers due to its cutting edge technology.
Greg is currently a non-executive board member of Memory Trees Corporation, which hosts education and entrepreneurship workshops to address the macro challenges of hunger and poverty. He has an MBA from the University of Arizona, and an undergraduate double major in physics and business management and recently earned a designation as a Certified Equity Professional.
