Evelyn Zalwango, Ugandan entrepreneur and creative carpenter, founded the Awaka Foundation, an initiative that supports youth, women and landmine survivors and victims, through specialized technical education and advocacy.

In addition to this, Evelyn also leads Export Villages, a programme that trains youth and women artisans on how to explore export markets in order to produce a new generation of skilled traders, creating jobs and improving lives in the community.

Evelyn is also CEO of V Interiors limited, a furniture design and manufacturing business, and the former president of Young African Leader Initiative (YALI) in Uganda, an initiative, seeking to equip young African leaders with the skills and connections they need to create impactful businesses and create value in Uganda.
