Akofa Dakwa, Ghana, understands markets and risk. The chartered banker with twelve years of finance experience possesses a special focus on all areas of treasury and market risk management.
Akofa is passionate about the development of African women and believes in the capacity of women to contribute positively to world advancement. She considers the challenges of African women to be “mainly the ability to break through the stereotypes that see assertive women as being disrespectful…I am a good example of what women can achieve if they set their minds to their goals and the level of assertiveness needed by women to stay on top of their game; and these are the skills I will continue to impart onto women that I mentor.”
Currently, Akofa is the Head of Treasury of Bank of Africa Ghana. Her responsibilities include managing liquidity, investments and foreign currency trading positions of the bank.
