Cal was the primary author of the San Francisco’s first Sustainable Energy Plan and has helped author energy, climate, and sustainability plans. He has guest lectured at universities, and numerous local, national, and international events. Previously, Cal worked in weatherization, solar, and lighting as installer, sales rep, and marketer.
Cal Broomhead has mentored several energy and sustainability start-ups and has a special interest in socially conscious and international ventures. He is an expert in the environment, renewable energy and sustainability, necessary practices for all entrepreneurs. He is currently the manager of Climate and Energy Programs at the Department of Environment, City and County of San Francisco, where he has 25 years of experience. Cal has designed energy efficiency improvements for dozens of urban renovation and retrofit projects and has managed over $25 million in efficiency programs providing over 9000 local businesses and building owners with energy efficiency retrofits. He is currently managing $5 million in Stimulus funds he secured for residential projects.
