Since founding his first business in 1992, the Turkish entrepreneur, investor, speaker, author, and TV star has continued on to a prolific career in Turkey, and internationally. His passions are entrepreneurship and investing. Baybars is the developer of the world-renowned entrepreneurship theory, the Altuntas Start-up Compass Theory.
Baybars got his start as an entrepreneur with $400. With it, he launched Deulcom International, a private vocational school in Turkey, where he continues as the President. Deulcom continues to thrive today, has since scaled into four different business models, and inspired his first book, “Off the Bus, Into a Supercar!”
With success as an entrepreneur, Baybars Altuntaş entered into angel investing and he currently serves as the president of Links Angel BAN, which he founded in 2012. The angel network was founded to invest in start-ups and is very active in Turkey and Europe. Baybars also founded Links Angel BAN Partners. Links Angel BAN Partners is the largest consulting chain in Turkey for entrepreneurs and companies at all stages.
Baybars is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor. Most of his investing is done through Links Angel BAN, or the Dragons’ Den, a hit show in Turkey. Since joining the panel of judges on the Dragons’ Den in 2010, Baybars Altuntaş has become a celebrity in Turkey and throughout the region, a platform that he uses to continue to inspire entrepreneurs, write books and articles, and speak to government bodies, universities, non-profits, and private companies all over the world. His focus is always global entrepreneurship, franchising, innovation, leadership, and angel investment.
Baybars also donates his times to helping others succeed: he is the Vice President of the European Trade Association for Business Angels, Seed Funds, and Early Stage Market Players, the President of the Business Angels Association of Turkey, the World Entrepreneurship Forum Ambassador to Turkey and the Balkans, and, one of the top speakers invited by former US President Obama to speak at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Kenya. He is a multiple recipient of the European Trade Association of Business Angels award for the Best Individual in Europe Globally Engaging with Entrepreneurial Ecosystems. He has authored and co-authored three books and dozens of articles, translated into multiple languages.
